2011

It has been a very productive year for me regarding the arts. Lots of time in the studio working towards a possible gallery show this fall. Just ended a long string of summer workshops at Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY.

I attended “The Mandala”, a five day workshop instructed by good friends Eileen “Rosie” Rose and her husband Michael Garger. This was their first time teaching at Omega, and I was honored to be part of that moment of personal growth we shared.

The end of July brought my annual pilgrimage back to Alex and Allyson Grey’s Visionary Art Intensive at Omega. This was a wonderful time to reconnect with my old friends and make connections with a whole new generation of visionaries. This is always a perfect opportunity for refining and putting a new twist on where you want your art carrier to go. I never fail to see something in my work that needs to be addressed.

This was immediately followed by the very first seven day anatomy workshop held on the beautiful grounds at COSM in Wappingers Falls, NY. Through instruction by Alex Grey the workshop was full of information both written as well as hands on with sculpting the skeleton in clay and later applying the muscular system.

The week was completed by an evening of figure drawing live models then a session of critiquing our work.
I look forward to this workshop again in the near future, as i am very interested in making good on my promise to draw a good human form.
